Let's be honest: there aren't too many architectural attractions in Kharkov. But at the same time, there are a lot of interesting places that are definitely worth visiting.

  • Ukraine's first skyscraper. So they call the building Gosprom (House of State Industry) on the Freedom Square. It was built in 1928 for the government of the Soviet Ukraine - until 1934 it housed the Council of People's Commissars of Ukraine. Gosprom is a symbol of the city. It has a very interesting history. For example, mammoth bones were found while digging the foundation pit of the building. In 1955 at the Gosprom was established one of the first TV towers in the USSR, which was 45 meters high. There are a lot of interesting details - you can learn about all of them by visiting the Gosprom Museum, which is located in the third entrance of the building.
  • Freedom Square. The central square of Kharkov, which until 1991 was called Dzerzhinsky Square. It covers 12 hectares and is one of the ten largest squares in the world. To give you a better idea of the scale, we can say that the area of Freedom Square is 5 times the size of Red Square.
  • Intercession Cathedral. This is one of the oldest buildings in Kharkov and one of its symbols. It was built in the XVII century by Cossacks to replace the wooden Intercession Church.
  • Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after Gorky. If you are visiting Kharkov in summer, make sure you visit this amusement park. After the reconstruction in 2012 all the rides were replaced and the biggest observation wheel in the country with a diameter of 55 meters was installed here. In 2013, the park was awarded the Golden Pony Awards-2013. Today this amusement park is the best in Ukraine.

  • Coffee house Kofein. The best green coffee is roasted right there, and then cooked on professional equipment. In this network of coffee shops you can not only drink coffee, but also have a hearty meal and try some stronger drinks.
  • Buffet pizza chain. This is a popular chain of fast food restaurants, where you can eat quickly, deliciously and cheaply. There are a total of 16 outlets in the city that operate 24/7.
